POLICIES

GENERAL INFORMATION

At Paradise Cooperative, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of everyone who engages with our community garden is a top priority. As a registered charity (No. 1159176), we adhere to robust policies and procedures to maintain a safe, welcoming, and secure environment for all.

  • Insurance & Site Security: Our site is fully insured and securely fenced on all sides to ensure safety.
  • Risk Management: Comprehensive risk assessments are conducted for all activities and locations. Leaders receive training to effectively manage risks.
  • Facilities: On-site toilet facilities are available. For off-site trips without toilet access, we provide tented toilet facilities.
  • Recruitment & Safeguarding: We follow strict recruitment procedures, including enhanced DBS checks for all staff. Staff and volunteers working with children are trained in safeguarding and adhere to our Code of Conduct.
  • First Aid: All staff are first-aid trained, and fully equipped first-aid kits are available on-site.
  • Tool Use Supervision: Children using tools are always provided with clear instructions and direct supervision.

These measures reflect our commitment to creating a safe, inclusive space where people of all ages can connect with nature, learn, and thrive.
