Beyond the Prison Fence: Short Film Screened at Oxford Real Farming Conference 2026

In January 2026, we screened a short film at the Oxford Real Farming Conference as part of the Justice Strand, a programme exploring land, food and community.
It is a film about our garden, but it is also about the nature of the land we are on, and the questions that raises about community, access and what urban green space is for.

Paradise Cooperative Featured in Sensemaking Stewardship: EcoLandS Research Project, Loughborough University

Paradise Cooperative was selected as one of a small number of case studies in Sensemaking Stewardship, a storytelling resource developed by researchers at Loughborough University London as part of the EPSRC-funded EcoLandS project, in collaboration with the Royal College of Art’s Ecological Citizen(s) Network+.

The project explores how communities navigate the complex conditions of land stewardship and how storytelling and relational tools can help build shared understanding across different stakeholders. Illustrated narratives of community-led land and river stewardship were brought together to make these journeys more visible, accessible and learnable for others.

We are proud to be included alongside other community stewards working to care for land and nature in and around London.

The Londoner’s Winter Almanac: Kingston University Art Students at Paradise Cooperative

In winter 2026, art students from Kingston University spent time at Paradise and made something quietly lovely: a zine called the Londoner’s Winter Almanac, exploring nature connection, urban ecology, and the outdoors.

Our collaborators and architects at Flimsey Works shared a beautiful write-up and photo series documenting the design and build of our Outdoor Classroom. The project reflects what’s possible when architecture, ecology and community knowledge come together in one shared space.

Paradise Cooperative in Permaculture Magazine: Community-Built Outdoor Classroom

Our community-built Outdoor Classroom was featured in Permaculture Magazine, highlighting the co-design with Flimsey Works and hands-on build process that brought this space to life.
The article explores how volunteers, designers and growers worked together to create a low-impact structure rooted in permaculture principles and community care.
