A Community Garden in Wandsworth, London

A community garden in Wandsworth, working towards a future where communities and nature thrive together

What started as a neglected piece of land is now a thriving community garden, shaped by volunteers, schools and local partners. It’s a place to learn, grow food, build friendships and reconnect with the natural world.

Each year, thousands of people join us through volunteering, education, community events and partnerships: helping build a healthier, more connected and more sustainable community.

what we do

The Garden

Our Wandsworth community garden is a living classroom, a sanctuary for biodiversity, and a gathering space for our community. We monitor and build habitats for wildlife, grow and donate food to local social enterprises, and maintain an accessible, inspiring urban green space that is free for everyone to enjoy.

Education

We lead high-quality outdoor workshops for local primary schools, supporting children’s confidence, creativity and connection with nature. Our sessions link directly to the national curriculum, and our free Wellbeing with Nature programme supports children facing barriers to nature connection.

community

We create free, welcoming opportunities for people to connect, learn and thrive through nature-based experiences; from weekly volunteer sessions to monthly workshops, community meals and specialist programmes for those who face barriers to accessing green space.

our impact last year

In 2025, nearly 5,000 people visited the community garden, 682kg of food was donated to local social enterprises, 3,276 children took part in our schools programme, and 247 species were recorded by staff and volunteers
